2010 MLB Season Update

This article from Talk Baseball, which is a great baseball forum that is free to join and that has 1,705 current members, will discuss the 2010 Major League Baseball (mlb) season currently ongoing in discussions at Talk-Baseball.com, and there are plenty of comments and predictions to make as of now.

As promised, here is the call of the leagues horse race style.

At the quarter pole of a one mile race in the much superior race we have::::

1 Tampa Bay off very fast and if can continue the pace, will not be caught.
2 YANKEES running second while showing some lameness.
3 Minnesota steady, in good position, and always a threat to win it all.
4 Detroit has good position and must be watched.
5 Toronto showing good form but probably not good enough for the long haul.
6 Texas a sleeper who is quietly showing signs of life.
7 Boston off slowly, but do not ignore, knows how to win.
8 Oakland doing better than expected early, but may fade.
9 Anaheim off slowly and struggling to find best stride.
10 Chicago running as expected.
11 KC an also ran.
12 Cleveland an also ran.
13 Seattle expected more, can move up.
14 Baltimore off very slowly.

At the quarter pole in the secondary race we have:::

1 Philadelphia the best of a poor lot.
2 San Diego showing good early speed, can they last the distance.
3 Cincinnati running well right now, can they keep the pace.
4 St Louis well placed to win it all.
5 SF could be the winner in this weak field.
6 LA not showing their best pace yet.
7 Florida can stay with this weak field.
8 Washington is there like everyone else.
9 Atlanta can show more, in good hands.
10 Mets keeping pace.
11 Colorado keeping pace.
12 Chicago plodding along.
13 Pittsburgh next in a very weak field.
14 Arizona may have more to offer as the race progresses.
15 Milwaukee running in spurts.
16 Houston off slowest of all but settling into stride and can move up.

Nugent at the site has predicted that the Red Sox will improve, and I agree, as I see them winning their division.
